Emory Myrl Gardenhire

FT. Worth -Services for Mr. Emory Myrl Gardenhire, 71, and his son Bill Man Gardenhire, 46, both formerly of Ft. Worth is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the Alpine Funeral Home Chapel of Ft. Worth, TX with Bro. Danny Dyer officiating. Interment following at the Mount Olivet Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson, OK.

Mr. Emory Myrl Gardenhire was born August 4, 1940 at Valliant, OK to the late Mr. Bill Man Gardenhire and Mrs. Pauline (Lisby) Gardenhire. Emory departed this life Thursday November 17, 2011 at Ardmore, OK.

Emory was raised in Ft. Worth attending school there. He began driving a cattle truck when he was 17 years old for his father’s business, “Barnett and Gardenhire Live Stock Trucking” He continued to drive a truck all of his working years until he retired in 1998.

Emory married the former Ms. Dovie Miller June 2, 1962 at Ft. Worth, TX at the Turner Memorial Baptist Church. After he retired, Emory became quite the house husband helping around the house and transporting grandkids. He and Dovie moved to Wilson, OK on Thanksgiving week in 2005 and have resided here since. Emory loved to listen to music and was a great dancer.

Preceding him in Death are his Parents, his brother, Jimmy in 1969, a daughter and Bill’s Sister, DeLona in 1993.His son Bill Man Gardenhire passed away later that day, Thursday, Novemaber 17, 201.1

Survivors include his Wife, Dovie of the home in Wilson; Emory’s Sister, Linda Williams and husband Steve of Ft. Worth, TX, Grandchildren , Ashlea Gardenhire of Northport, Ala, Mandee Gardenhire of Justin, TX, Heather Chuan of Ft. Worth, TX and SGT Jerry King of Alaska; Great Grandchildren and Bill’s Grandchildren, Jonathan Cargile, Tara, Kyle and Kaylee. Numerous other family and friends.
