Emma Virginia Loving

Wilson -Funeral Services for Mrs. Emma Elizabeth Loving, 102, of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday April 22, 2010 at the Ash Street Church of Christ with Gary Scott LaBeth officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.

Emma was born April 6, 1908 at Newport, OK to the late Mr. John Lee McMillan and Mrs. Cora (Carpenter) McMillan. She departed this life Monday April 19, 2010 at Healdton just 13 days after her 102nd birthday.

Emma was raised at Simon attending school there and at O’Savior. During her school years she enjoyed playing Basketball. As a young girl living in Simon she worked in the cotton fields. She and the late Mr. Clarence Gilbert Loving were united in marriage on October 7, 1929 at Wilson. They made their home at Simon farming and raising peanuts until they moved to Wilson in 1944 when Clarence began working in the Oilfield. Emma was always a devoted homemaker and housewife who loved to garden and sew. She was also a very loving grandmother and always took great pleasure in sewing items for her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of the Ash Street Church of Christ of Wilson.

Preceding her in death were her Parents, Son Elmer Loving in 1968 and daughter in law, Phyllis, Husband Clarence Sept. 24, 1988, Brothers, Lester, Luther, Bill, Odis, Audie, and Virgil McMillan, Sisters, Cora Lee and Ella, 2 Sons in Law, Bobby Claxton and Bill Cornish, and 1 Great Grandson Bobby Butler.

Survivors include 3 Daughters, LaVerne Cornish of Ardmore, Anna Mae Poirot and husband Dale of Moore, and Barbara Elliott of Wilson, 2 Sons, L.C. Loving and wife Colene and E.L. Loving and wife Barbara, both of Wilson. 14 Grandchildren, Ronnie, Sherri, Elaine, Stan, Chuck, Cathy, Carol, Rhonda, Steve, Rod, Kalinda, Preston, Dyanna and Janet. 29 Great Grandchildren and 14 Great Great Grandchildren. Sisters in Laws, Faye McComber of Ardmore, and Elena Loving of Burneyville and host of other family and friends.

Casket Bearers are Grandsons, Ronnie Claxton, Stan Loving, Chuck Loving, Steve Poirot, Rod Elliott, and Preston Loving.

Honorary Bearers are Phil McMillan, Charles McMillan, Jimmy McMillan, Granddaughters, Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Family visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday Evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
