Mrs. Emma Mae Butler
Wilson- Graveside Funeral Services are scheduled for Mrs. Emma Mae Butler, 86, of Wilson at 9:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Ardmore with Rev. Leo Potts officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.
Emma was born April 16, 1923 at Berwyn (Gene Autry) Oklahoma to the late Mr. Sam William Riley Brown and Mrs. May Bell (Hale) Brown. She departed this life Monday, August 17, 2009 at Healdton.
Emma was born in Berwyn moving to Milo at a young age and attending school at Woodford. Emma and Mr. Lois “L.K.” Keller Butler were united in marriage on June 29, 1942 at Durant. She and L.K. moved to Upland California in 1949 where she was employed by General Electric as an assembler at an Iron Plant in Ontario California. They moved back to Wilson in 1993 where they made their home since. Emma loved to plant roses and her vegetable garden. She also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wilson.
Preceding her in death is her Parents, Husband, L.K. April 14, 1997, Daughter-In-Law, Beverly Butler, Sister, Doris Dill, 2 Brothers, Emery and Clarence Brown.
Survivors include Son, Butch Butler of Wilson, 2 Brothers, Bob Brown of Wilson and Herbert ‘Dude’ Brown and wife Florence of Shallow Water, TX, 2 Sisters, Mina Ponder of Ardmore and Helen Cleo Smith of Rancho Cucamonga, California, 2 Grandchildren, Karen Goff Jones and Bobby Butler both of Ardmore, 5 Great-Grandchildren, Nicole Rodriguez, Kayle Butler, Justin Butler, Derek Goff and Sarah Butler.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Butler, Sam Goff, Chase Lawrence, Cole Harwood, Don Adams and Bill Lovin.
Honorary Bearers will be A.D. Butler, Bob Brown and Dude Brown.
Special thanks to the wonderful nursing staff at Healdton Hospital. You took such care and respect in tending and loving our mother and grandmother as well as our family during this difficult time. Brandy Jones, Joy Shankle, Brenda Emerson, Megan Hix and Charlotte Baker, we thank and love you for your kindness shown to our family. Special thanks and love to Bill and Marie Lovin, Cindy Hamilton and Dave Kappel for their love and support. Glenda Roberts for providing such great care and companionship over the last couple of years. She thought of you as the other daughter.
Family Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home in Wilson.
