Emily Ann Carroll Griffith

Healdton - A Home Going Celebration will be held for Emily Ann Carroll Griffith on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 2:00 P.M., at the Asphaltum Worship Center north of Ringling with Bro Doug Hickman and Bro John Harris officiating.  Interment will follow to Dixie Cemetery.  Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.  

Mrs. Griffith was born in Marietta, OK on January 27, 1940 to Obie Ashel Bright and Rena Milliken Bright.  She stepped into glory on December 27, 2023 at her home in Healdton. 

Emily married Jack Carroll on March 11, 1961 in Marietta and were married 29 years at the time of his death in 1990.  This union produced 3 sons.  A few years after Jack's death, Emily met Luther Griffith Jr. and with her son's blessings they were wed on February 14, 1994 and had 26 1/2 wonderful years together until his death in 2020.  

Emily held various jobs over the years, including at Brady's and JD Lewis.  The job she loved and cherished the most was being a homemaker, being there for her family.  Each Sunday, she had Sunday dinner for her family. Emily was also an active member of Asphaltum Worship Center where she was one of the original members of the church and loved her church family very much.  In her younger years, Emily could be found playing the piano or leading praise and worship at church.  

Preceding her in death are her parents; 2 brothers, Obie David "O.D." Bright and Guy Jefferson Bright; sister, Ada Mae Bright Plant and her husbands, Jack Carroll and Luther "Curly" Giffith, Jr. 

Emily is survived by her 3 sons, Harlan Carroll and wife Brenda of Healdton, Tim Carroll and wife Donna of Camargo and Jackie "Bud" Carroll and wife Sherry of Healdton, 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; sister in law, Julia Bright of Duncan, numerous nieces and nephews; and by a host of other family and friends. 

Pallbearers will be Stephen Carroll, Jesse Brown, Jeremy Carlton, Obie Webb, Scotty Baird, and Jeff Webb.  Honorary bearer will be Bobby Perkins. 

Viewing and visitation will be held at the home of Emily at 5034 Airport Road, Healdton, OK.
