Wilson

Eller "Janice" Adams, 85, of Wilson, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 4, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on August 30, 1939, to Arthur and Vida (Mays) Lamascus.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Josh Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Orr Cemetery.

Janice's love story began when she met Wilbur Adams while he was serving in the Air Force during the Korean War. Their playful encounter at the movies, where Wilbur sat behind her and playfully pulled her hair, led to a loving marriage. Janice cherished her family deeply, preparing Sunday lunches for everyone. She delighted in traveling with her daughters on mother-daughter trips and enjoying brother/sister trips with her family each year. Janice had a passion for her flower garden and decorating her home for every holiday, bringing joy and warmth to all who knew her. Her playful spirit will be remembered fondly especially for throwing a mean flip flop. She loved her family and her family and friends will miss her dearly.

Janice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wilbur Dean Adams; her parents; sisters, Cleta Jo Whitner, Pearline Glenn, and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Lamascus; brother, Vernon Lamascus; daughter, Patricia Maples; daughter-in-law, Janey Adams; son-in-law, David Nichols; grandsons, Ethan Corbin and Tristan Bolles; and granddaughter, Dawn Gray.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her seven children: Gwen Nichols of Dewey, Elizabeth Sanders and her husband Tim of Wilson, Allen Adams of Wilson, Mary Blackwell and her husband Billy of Ringling, Homer Adams and his wife Sherry of Prague, Dewayne Adams and his wife Kristi of Ardmore, and Richard Adams and his wife Jessica of Ardmore. Janice is also survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy Lamascus of Woodward; 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will include Evan Wilkinson, Leyton Riley, Josh Adams, Adam Nichols, David Nichols, and Brandon Adams. Honorary bearers are Chris Williams, Beau Worth, and Jacob Riley.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday evening from 5-7 P.M. at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
