Ellen Marie Walker

Healdton - Funeral Services for Mrs. Ellen Marie (Baker) Walker, 59, of Zaneis, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021 at the Hilltop Baptist Church with Bro. Aaron Hawn officiating. Interment will follow at the Cheek Cemetery south of Lone Grove. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.

Ellen was born on Feb. 28, 1962 at Purcell to the late Mr. Billy Ray Baker and Mrs. Myrta Bernice (Perkins) Baker. She departed this life on Monday, October 25, 2021 at a healthcare facility in Wichita Falls, TX.

Ellen was raised at Wayne, where she attended and graduated high school in 1980. She then attended college at East Central University of Ada. There she fell in love with Mr. Ronnie Hiram Walker and they were united in marriage on May 2, 1981 at the Ada First Missionary Baptist Church. They made their home back in this area, where they remained. Ellen worked as a restaurant cook, done house cleaning, worked at Winstons Drug store, Mercy Hospital, XTO and currently as an office clerk at Sooner Electric. Ellen was a faithful member of the Hilltop Baptist Church. There she served many years as a Sunday School teacher and bus worker. Ellen was very passionate about serving the Lord and providing love for children.

Preceding her in death are her parents; niece, Lori Matthews and nephew, Joe Matthews; daughter in law, Patricia Ann Walker.

Survivors include her husband Ronnie of the home; daughters, Kacee Corder and husband Clay of Del Rio, TX, Karissa Walker and Jason Freeman of Healdton and Mary Beth Walker of the home; son Jody Walker and fiancée Brittany Day of Wilson; sisters, Mary Jones of Purcell and Bonnie Bradley and husband Roger of Oklahoma City; brothers, Paul Baker of Rosedale and Ricky Johnston and wife Robin of Dover; 11 grandchildren, 29 foster children; numerous nieces, nephews and other family.

Pallbearers will be Terry Hix, Kyle DeFoor, Christopher Baker, Robert Herron, Michael Trammell and John Ronald DeFoor.

Honorary bearers are Ernest Franklin, John Hatfield and Lance Parker.

Family visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm Friday evening at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
