Elizabeth "Liz" Ramona Southerland

Velma - Funeral Services for Mrs. Elizabeth "Liz" Ramona (Bender) Southerland, 65, of Loco are scheduled for 10:00 am Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the Velma First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Southerland and Rev. John Croy officiating. Interment will follow at the Loco Cemetery in Loco. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Velma Chapel.

Liz was born on January 5, 1953 in Seminole, OK to the late Mr. Sam Joe Bender and Mrs. Ida Belle (West) Bender. She departed this life on Saturday morning, July 21, 2018 at her home in Loco.

Liz was raised primarily at Countyline attending school at Velma. She graduated from High School in 1971. She married Mr. Bill Gale Southerland on March 6,1970 at Wichita Falls, TX. Liz enjoyed being a dedicated homemaker all of their years together. She was an amazing cook who loved to go fishing and camping with her family on Lake Texoma. She was a member of the Loco Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death are her Parents, Sam and Ida Belle Bender.

Survivors include her husband Bill of the home; sons, Bill Southerland, Jr. of Muskogee and Michael Southerland of Loco; daughter, Roni Graham and husband David of Edmond; brother, Edward Bender and wife Shelly of Seminole; grandson, Braylin Southerland of Loco; special nephew, Jarrod Bender of Seminole; numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers are Jarrod Bender, Dusty Presgrove, Toby Presgrove, James Bradshaw, Ted Southerland, Eddie Wayne Southerland, Donald Stephens, Joe Don Southerland, Jerry Southerland, Jackie Dale Southerland, Kyle Pierce, Rodney Eason and Tanner Southerland.

Honorary Bearers are Eddie Southerland, Jackie Southerland, Bobby Southerland, Les Presgrove, Harold Bradshaw, Buddy Hokit and Larry Pierce.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 7 pm Wednesday evening at the Velma Chapel.
