Eleanor “Carol” Boatman

Marlow - Funeral Services for Mrs. Carol Boatman, 72, of Marlow are scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, June 5, 2015 at Bethesda Church of God in Duncan with Bro. Harold Matheny officiating. Interment will follow at the Mountain Park Cemetery in Kiowa County.

Carol was born October 19, 1942 at Denver, CO. to the late Mr. John Fishburn and Mrs. Nellie Eleanor (Giblin) Fishburn. She departed this life Wednesday, May 27, 2015 in Lawton.

As a child Carol lived all over the southern United States. She spent most of her time living at Chico, CA graduating from Dunigan High School. After graduation, Carol met the love of her life, Mr. Tommie Boatman, and they were married on June 30, 1962 at Reno, NV. The couple lived in California and Arkansas before making their home in Bray, OK during the summer of 1978. Carol worked at Bray Public Schools for 33 years as the custodian, retiring in 2011. She loved flowers, gardening, crocheting, and reading.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband Tommie on April 19, 2013; her parents John and Nellie; and an infant son, Walter J. Boatman.

Survivors include two daughters, Diane Hill and husband Leroy of Marlow, Debbie Boatman and special friend Roy Williamson of Duncan; son, Dwaine Boatman and wife Lisa of Frisco, TX; sister, Dorothy Glidewell and husband Sam of Rogersville, MO; sister in law, Virginia Bowman and husband Rick of Velma; brother in law, Jay Boatman and wife Ingrid of Germany; 5 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 1 great granddaughter, 1 great grandson, numerous nieces and nephews, family, and friends.

Casket Bearers are David Ponder, Murry Savage, Brent Perkins, Rick Bowman, Carsten Boatman, and Reuben Prewitt.

Honorary Bearers are nephews, Roy Williamson, and Leroy Hill.

Family visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm Thursday Evening at the Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.
