Edward Laverne Davis

Graham - Graveside services for Mr. Edward Laverne Davis, 83, of Healdton are scheduled for 10:00 AM Sat. July 1, 2017 at Graham Cemetery with Kenny Cogburn officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Edward was born July 9, 1933 at Courtney Flatts to Mr. Robert Wayne Davis and Mrs. Nancy Ora (Pierce) Davis. He departed this life Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Ardmore.

Edward was raised at Courtney Flatts and Cleburne, TX. He married the former Ms. Corine Parker on Nov. 21, 1953 at Gainesville, TX. They initially lived in Cleburne following work there, residing on a dairy for 5 years. They moved back to this area remaining here the rest of their lives. Edward worked in the Oilfield most of his working years for Hamp Baker and Deans Well Service. He loved tinkering with things, gardening and tending to his chickens. He was a avid fan of John Wayne Westerns.

Preceding him in death are his Parents; wife Corine on September 21, 2016; brother, LeeDale Davis; daughter, Nancy; Son, Ricky; 2 granddaughters Nickie and Tina and a great grandson, Kade.

Survivors include a son, Billy Mack Davis and wife Theda of Sobol; daughters, Paula Beaird of Ratliff City, Kellye Melton of Palestine, TX, Vicky Davis, Judy Davis of Wilson and Donna Watkins and husband Mickey of Ratliff City; brother, Harold Davis of Cleburne, TX; 26 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers are Johnny Watkins, Kenny Loftis, Ricky Davis, Charles Davis, Dustin Hayes and Russell Barrow.

Honorary bearers are Keith Wright, Keith Wright, Jr., Colton Davis, Josh Davis, Hunter Davis, Braydon Watkins, Haden King and Christopher Max.
