Healdton - Funeral Services for Mrs. Edith Marie Underwood, 77 of Healdton are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Healdton with Dustin Gardner officiating.  Interment will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery.  

Edith was born October 23, 1946 to the late Mr. William Ray Hiser and Mrs. Ruby Pearl (Oliver) Hiser Tarlton.  She departed from this life on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at her home in Healdton with her family by her side. 

Edith was raised and graduated high school in Grand Prairie, TX.  After high school, she worked several clerical type jobs and attended International Bible College in San Antonio, TX.  Edith married the love of her life, Paul Underwood on May 4, 1970 in Hugo, OK.  Together they were blessed with 3 children, Pernell, Christina (Tina), and Angie.  Above all, Edith loved her Savior, Jesus Christ.  Her life was a living testimony of her faith in God.  She was faithful in her service to the Lord and has ministered side by side with Paul all their married life.  Edith always said that the best job she ever had was being a "momma", and she was good at it.  She loved her children unconditionally but those grandkids...they were the sparkle in her eye. 

Edith was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and being with family.  She was a wonderful wife, a loving mother, and a true friend to so many. 

Preceding her in death were her parents; parents in law, Paul, Sr. and Clara Underwood; sister, Patricia Parrott, brother, Roger Hiser, brothers in law, Jon Underwood and Floyd Underwood; grandchildren, Kaytlin Stubblefield and Rachel Stubblefield. 

Edith is survived by her husband of 54 wonderful years, Paul of the home; son, Pernell Underwood and wife Mayte of Sand Springs, OK; daughters, Tina Stubblefield and husband James of Healdton, and Angie Underwood of Healdton; grandchildren, Adam Underwood of Sapulpa; Cade Stubblefield of Healdton, Zakk Underwood of Austin, MN, Deacon Stubblefield of Healdton, Ocean Stubblefield of Marshfield, MO, Leo Villagrana of Sand Springs, Jacob Stubblefield of Healdton, and Aqua Stubblefield of Healdton; great grandchild, Elliette Stubblefield of Pekin, IL; brothers in law, Charles Parrott of Frankston, TX, Harvey Underwood of Seymour, MO, and Ernest Underwood and wife Lois of Marshfield, MO; numerous nieces and nephews, and by a host of other family and friends. 

Pallbearers will be James Stubblefield, Pernell Underwood, Cade Stubblefield, Jacob Stubblefield, Doug Echols, and Terry Chancellor.  Honorary bearers will be Adam Underwood, Zakk Underwood, Deacon Stubblefield, Ocean Stubblefield, Leo Villagrana, Jason Parrott, Jesse Underwood, Arthur Underwood, and Stephen North. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Healdton.
