Eddie "Wayne" Southerland, aged 60, of Loco, Oklahoma, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. Born on July 18, 1964, in Ringling, Oklahoma, Wayne was the son of Dwaine "Eddie" Southerland and Marquieta Joyce (Burk) Southerland.

Wayne was a lifelong resident of Loco, where he attended and graduated from Velma High School. He began his career in the oilfield alongside his father, eventually running Eddie's Well Service together. Wayne dedicated his life to this profession until his retirement. Known for his generosity and kindness, Wayne had an innate ability to connect with everyone he met, often extending a helping hand to those in need.

A devoted family man, Wayne found immense joy in attending the sporting events of his nieces and great-nieces and nephews. His interests included visiting casinos, enjoying fast cars, listening to music, and playing the drums. He was an active member of the Loco Baptist Church.

Wayne is survived by his mother, Marquieta Southerland of Loco; his brother, Teddy Southerland of Loco; nieces, Whitni Sanner and husband Jimmy, Hayeli Pirtle and husband Jeff of Norman, Connor Becerra and husband RJ of Velma, and Teddi Geurin and husband Clay of Loco. He also leaves behind 13 great-nieces and nephews, 1 great-great-nephew, and a wide circle of family and friends.

His father, Eddie Southerland, and his grandmothers, Ella Southerland and Vivle Terry, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Velma Baptist Church, led by Rev. Randy Southerland. Interment will follow at 4S Cemetery in Loco. Services are entrusted to the care of Alexander Gray Velma Chapel. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday evening from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the Alexander Gray Velma Chapel. 

Pallbearers for the service will include Tanner Southerland, Jamie Dan Bradshaw, Joyle Hurst, Kyle Pierce, Toby Presgrove, and Dusty Presgrove. Honorary bearers are James Bradshaw, Jimmy Sanner, Jeff Pirtle, RJ Becerra, Ryder Smith, Clay Geurin, Michael Southerland, Jackie Dale Southerland, Joe Dan Southerland, and Jerry Dean Southerland.
