Healdton -Earnie Earl Miller, 57, opened his new shop in Heaven on Monday, May 9, 2011 at his residence in Healdton. Services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Healdton Assembly of God with the Revs. Jimmy May and Quintin Newton officiating. Burial will be at Dixie Cemetery in Stephens County north of Ringling. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Earnie was born in Duncan, Ok, on October 23, 1953 to Cain “C. B.” and Flossie “Flo” (Redden) Miller. Earnie operated a backhoe and drove a truck for the last 21 years for Withers Trucking. He loved music and was a talented musician who gave Elvis a run for his money. He sang and played for several bands throughout the years with the latest being Joker’s Wild Band and Kountry Klassic Band.
Earnie is survived by his sweetheart Rubetta Rose. They were married on February 24, 1970 in Gainesville, TX. They have been blessed with three daughters , Linda LeeAnn Webb and husband, Ronnie; Misty Dawn Howell, Julie Erna Grant and husband Eric, and one son Codi Allen Miller and wife Jessica, all from Healdton. He had two special kids he considered his own: Lori Kirkpatrick and husband Joe and Larry Don Roberts and wife Kristie. His grandkids, Cameron and Ramsey Webb; Macey Howell; Regan and Denton Miller; Earnest Lane, Tommie Kane “TK”, Brock Grant; and Heavenly and Jamaica Kirkpatrick, were the joy of his life.
Earnie will leave an empty place in the hearts of his siblings, Bobbie Miller of Ardmore, Alex Miller of Wilson, Betty and John Stanton of Ringling, Linda and Buddy Jackson of Healdton. He is deeply loved by his brothers and sisters in law, Don and Jolene Lewis, Dink and Lisa Rose, Winona Rose, and Duane and lee Thompson, all of Healdton. His numerous nieces and nephews will miss their “Uncle Earnie.”
Waiting in Heaven on Earnie besides his parents are grandparents, Earl and Lola Miller and Ernest and Bertha Redden, and his sister-in-law, Paula Miller. Especially joyous is his reunion with his infant son, Ernest Earl Miller, Jr. We are certain that Heaven celebrates Earnie’s arrival with hosts of relatives and friends.
Earnie was a talented man who could make treasures out of trash. He restored automobiles and motorcycles. He even built customized scooters for his grandkids. He loved horses and kids, the more the better. Earnie was a fearless man who met every challenge with a smile and a “git ‘r done” spirit.
Earnie never missed the opportunity to express how much he loved all his family. His house was always open to anyone who needed a helping hand. If having friends was a competition, Earnie would be declared the winner. He loved camping at the lake, going to the dunes with his dune buggy, taking family vacations to Eureka Springs, but most of all he loved sitting on the back patio watching his grandkids shoot hoops or ride the golf cart.
Earnie was saved as a child and was baptized on May 9, 2007, at the Healdton Assembly of God. Earnie was also proud of being the great-great grandson of Chickasaw Governor Winchester Colbert.
Earnie’s workshop seems so empty and the barn seems to wait for his visit. The horses look toward the house expecting, him to come to give them a pat or a block of hay. The dogs search among the many friends gathered, not understanding where he is. But, we know that Earnie has arrived safely in Heaven and is awaiting the arrival of all those he loves.
