Doyle "Rusty" Green Dewbre, of Healdton, departed this life on Monday, June 22, 2020 at the age of 87 years, 9 months, and 14 days. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM Friday, June 26, 2020 at the Graham Assembly of God Church with Rev. J.R. Townley officiating. Interment will follow in the Drake - Nebo Cemetery near Sulphur. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.
Mr. Dewbre was born on September 8, 1932 in Courtney, OK to the late Mr. Sylvester Dewbre and Mrs. Nora (Warren) Dewbre.
Rusty was raised at Courtney Flat and attended Courtney Schools graduating from there. He then joined the United States Army proudly serving his country during the Korean War. He attained the rank of E7 Master Sargent for three years. After serving in the Army, Rusty attended The University of Oklahoma and then graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science/Business Administration Degree. He married the love of his life Ms.Gaylene Brown on October 1, 1982 at Pruitt City. Together they made their home in Healdton and have lived there ever since. Mr. Dewbre worked as a tax accountant and worked for OG&E for 28 years as an office accountant. In his retirement he enjoyed helping at Fox Public Schools and driving a bus. His passion was hunting and teaching his grandsons. Doyle was an honest man that believed in a man's handshake and always proudly stood for the National Anthem.
Mr. Dewbre is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Raymond Dewbre, Pauline Byrd, Joyce Webster, and Lorene Haun.
He is survived by his loving wife Sandra "Gaylene" (Brown) Dewbre of the home; son, Scott Dewbre and wife Char of Vancouver, Canada; daughters, Paula Hall and husband Darrell of OKC, OK, Sherri Mitchell of Ringling, Gena Wise and husband Chris of Fox; brother, Mickey Dewbre and wife Kathy of Ringling; sister, Clara Brown of California; 9 grandchildren, Bryan, Courtney, Forrest, Ashley, Dakota, Dalton, Devin, Chance, and Bobby; 12 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Bryan Perkins, Forrest Mitchell, Dakota Mitchell, Dalton Wise, Devin Wise, and Chance Wise.
Honorary casket bearers are Baylon Perkins, Bryson Perkins, Zeth Mitchell, and Bobby Dewbre.
Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 PM Thursday evening at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.
