Douglas Collyer Mcelroy

Memorial Services for Mr. Douglas Collyer McElroy are scheduled for 10 AM, Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Oak Bowery Baptist Church in Conway, AR with Bro. Tim Nolan officiating. Inurnment will follow to Oak Bowery Cemetery.

Mr. Douglas Collyer McElroy was born July 12, 1938 in Hartman, AR to the late Mr. Douglas Doyle McElroy and Mrs. Jewel Ida (Collier) Graham. He departed from this life on Monday, September 26, 2016 at his home in Ringling, OK.

Collyer was raised majority of his early years in Hartman, AR. He married the former Sarah Martha Rotton and was married for 44 years residing at Saltillo Community. She preceded him in death on Jan. 10, 2013. Collyer was a very accomplished carpenter who loved his work. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, friends and family. Collyer was a member of the Oak Bowery Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife Martha; mother, Jewel Graham; father, Everett Graham; sister, Barbara Martin and Judy Cupit; daughter, Marla Byrne and son, Timothy Mills.

Collyer is survived by his sons, Douglas “Chuck” McElroy and wife Paula and Steve Sanders and wife Ramona; grandchildren, Mindy Martin and husband Nathan, Drue McElroy, Blake Plouch and Thomas Sanders and wife Tamera; great grandchildren, Kadyn Sanders, Laythen Sanders and Charlie Rose Martin; and sister Frances Kelley and husband C.F.

Honorary bearers are Tommy Mayor, Kelly Morris, Pat Hickey, Jim Pierce, David Cook, C.F. Kelley, Randy Sanders, Brent Kelley, Willie Gwatney and Roger Martin.

A family visitation is scheduled for Friday evening from 6-8 PM at Oak Bowery Baptist Church in Conway, AR.
