Dorothy Pearl Richardson

Wilson - Graveside services for Dorothy Pearl London Richardson, 94, of Ardmore, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.

Dorothy was born on October 21, 1926, at Wesleton, Suffolk, England, to the late Frederick and Dora London. She departed this life Tuesday evening, January 12, 2021 at her home in Ardmore.

Dorothy met the love of her life, Jack LeRoy Richardson, during WWII, and they were married in Darsham Village of Suffolk, on April 2, 1945. After the war, Dorothy traveled to Oklahoma to join Jack while he finished his schooling and started teaching school in Taloga and Camargo, Oklahoma.

In 1954 Dorothy and Jack traveled back to England where he served as School Administrator on the military bases there and in Tripoli, North Africa. Dorothy became the ultimate hostess everywhere she went. In 1961 they moved to Wilson for Jack to head the school and for Dorothy to host family, school and church events. In 1967 they went back overseas serving on military bases in Iceland, Bermuda and the Azores, Portugal. Upon retirement in 1986 Dorothy and Jack settled in Ardmore.

Dorothy enjoyed cooking for her family, friends and church events - her cherry pies were legendary and loved by anyone lucky enough to get a piece before it was gone!!

Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Jack; her parents and brothers, Ronald and Geoffrey London; sisters, Joyce Kent, Marjorie Stephens, Kathy Cracknell and Sybil Stewart.

Survivors include her loving daughters, Carol Mitchell and husband, Bill of Springer; Debbie Schaef of Ardmore; Grandchildren, Shane Schaef and wife Casey of Amarillo, Texas, and Jessica Nekouee and husband Justin of Lenexa, Kansas; great-granddaughters Addison and Anslee Schaef of Amarillo, Texas; brother, Michael London, of Woodbridge, England; sisters, Nina Adams of Ipswich, England and Marilyn Jones of Biloxi, Mississippi.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Memorial Fund of the First United Methodist Church of Wilson, P.O. Box 235, Wilson, OK 73463.
