Dorothy L. Lyle

Ringling – Funeral Services for Mrs. Dorothy Launa (Walker) Lyle, 85, of Orr, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Ringling with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Orr Cemetery south of Ringling.

Dorothy was born December 22, 1928 at McLain, TX to the late Mr. Cecil Gilbert Walker and Mrs. Addie Irene (Rogers) Walker. She departed this life Christmas evening Dec. 25, 2013 at Mercy Hospital of Ardmore.

Dorothy was a resident of this area the majority of her life. She married the late Mr. William “Bill” Houston Lyle on January 20, 1947 at Gainesville, TX. They made their home in the town of Orr and soon moved east of town in 1948 where Dorothy still resided. She was a devoted housewife and homemaker who always had a garden and enjoyed quilting. She loved to cook for everyone and liked watching football, especially the Ringling Blue Devils. Bill preceded her in death on December 29, 1997.She was a very loving Mother and Grandmother to many and was a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Ringling.

In addition to her husband Bill, also preceding her in death are her Parents, Cecil and Addie Walker; Son, Ronnie Louis Lyle – July 5, 1953; Daughter In law, Connie Gail Lyle on April 29, 2005; Brothers Paul, Earl and Melvin Walker and Sister, Mary Francis “Walker” Lyle.

Survivors include her beloved children, Roger Keith Lyle and wife Judy of Davis, James “Jim” Douglas Lyle and wife Lisa of Porter, William “Tony” Anthony Lyle of Orr, Phyllis Ann (Lyle) Hawkins and husband Donnie of Ringling and Charles Wesley Lyle and wife Becky of Orr; Brothers, Bruce Walker of Dallas, TX, and Charles Walker of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 12 Grandchildren, and 15 Great Grandchildren. Numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers will be Wes Stroud, Landon Lyle, Clay Lyle, Walker Lyle, Nathan Boyd, and Brian McDaniel.

Honorary Bearers will be Leaha Stroud, Marlee Lyle, Anne Boyd, Rebecca Winters, Kash Lyle, Angela Lloyd, Deanna McDaniel, Kasie Mallory and Oliver Lyle.

Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Saturday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
