Dorothy Jean Jackson

Ringling – Funeral Service for Mrs. Dorothy Jean (Morris) Jackson, 88, of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ Gospel Tabernacle with Rev. Jimmy Morris officiating and assisted by Bro. Johnny Blankenship and Bro. Terry Grant. Interment will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Dorothy was born June 7, 1922 at Cornish, OK to the late Mr. Terry F. Morris and Mrs. Jessie (Newby) Morris. She departed this life Monday morning April 11, 2011 at Healdton, OK.

Dorothy was raised in Ringling attending school there working as a child in her Father’s business in Ringling. She married Mr. Loyd M. Jackson on September 1, 1940 at Wichita Falls, TX. They lived on their Ranch, “The Bar J Ranch” south of Ringling and east of Grady, working and raising their children together. Dorothy loved being with her children and especially her grandchildren always spending time with them hunting arrowheads or fishing. She was always a devout Christian and wonderful cook and was a longtime member of the Gospel Tabernacle in Ringling.

Preceding her in death are her Parents; Sisters, Gertie and Zona,; Brothers, J.T. “Buddy”, Dana, James, Ivan, and one infant brother.

Survivors include her husband Loyd; Daughters, Lana Wade and husband Charles of Ringling, and Fran Riley and husband Dale of Ringling. Brother, Billy Morris and wife Alpha of Ringling; Sister in Law, Ella Morris of Ringling. 6 Grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Riley, Shane Riley, Caleb Riley, Jimmy Wade, Jory Wade, Jerrad Lewis and Tyler Wade.

Honorary Bearers will be Dale Riley, Charles Wade and other remaining grandchildren.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Ringling.
