Dorothy B. Barbour-Hawk

Healdton – Funeral Services for Mrs. Dorothy B. Barbour-Hawk, 93, of Healdton are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wed. January 25, 2011 at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. Jeff Flowers officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery in Healdton. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Dorothy was born December 4, 1918 at Zaneis, Ok to the late Mr. Hershel J, Wood and Mrs. Anna (Brooks) Wood. She departed this life Sunday evening, January 22, 2012 at Healdton.

Dorothy was raised at Zaneis attending school there. She often reminisced about being a cheerleader there. Dorothy and the late Mr. Wayland D. Barbour were united in marriage and afterwards made their home in Healdton. Wayland was employed for Mobil Oil Company, which would later transfer them to the community of Purcell in 1966. They resided there for 5 years when Wayland retired, and they moved back to Healdton to enjoy their retirement together.

Dorothy was always a devout Christian, wonderful Mother and tremendous homemaker who loved to bake and provide for those less fortunate or in need. She loved her many shopping missions with her friends to Ardmore and always enjoyed attending Church at the First Baptist Church and Shell Street Church of Christ. Wayland preceded her in death on July 25, of 1986. She would later remarry Mr. Leroy Hawk and he also preceded her in death. In addition to Wayland and Leroy, also preceding her in death were her Parents and 7 Siblings.

Survivors include her Son, Mr. Wayland G. Barbour and wife Pamela of Cleburne, TX; Granddaughter, Kristina Arthurs and husband Michael of Cleburne, TX; Great Grandchildren, Christopher, Wayland Kane, and Katherine Ann; Brother James Wood of Duncan, Numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Billy Renfro, Wayland Kane Britt, Ricky Wood, Rocky Wood, Alan Dean Wood, Buddy Wood, Hershel Wood, Gary Wood, James Wood, Michael Arthurs, Christopher Arthurs and D.J. Brown.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society 2420 Springer Dr. #205 Norman, OK 73069-3965.

Family visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Wed. Evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
