Ardmore – Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Doris Louise (Miller) Newman, 99 of Ardmore will be at 10 A.M. Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Reck Cemetery with LeRoy Allen and Jim Taliaferro officiating. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Mrs. Doris Louise Newman was born July 7, 1911 at Devol, Oklahoma to the late Mr. Hershel Christopher Miller and Mrs. Maude Ann (Blassingame) Miller. She departed this life on Sunday, August 15, 2010 in Ardmore.

Doris lived most of her entire life in Carter County. She was widely known to everyone for her piano playing skills. She deeply loved to play the piano at all the area Nursing homes to all of the residents. She was loved by her family and friends and her many caregivers at Elmbrook Nursing Home. She will be missed by all.

Preceding her in death are her parents, brothers, T.B. Miller and Jerry Miller, sisters, Syble Collins, Wayne Ponder and Minnie Woods.

Survivors include Daughters, Deloris Taliaferro and husband Fred of Lone Grove and Carol Dumas Allen and husband LeRoy of Grove, OK, Brother, Leon Miller of Athens, TX and Sister Hazel Newcomb of Lone Grove. 8 grandchildren, 22 great – grandchildren and 14 great – great- grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Grandsons.
