Home Going Services for Mrs. Dora Maurice “Marcy” (Johnson) Lovelace, 83, of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Wilson with Rev. Don Clark and Rev. Jason Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the Hewitt Cemetery of Wilson. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson
Marcy was born May 6, 1930 at Merit, TX to the late Mr. Walter Roy Johnson and Mrs. Dora (Lawrence) Johnson. She went to be the Lord on Christmas morning, December 25, 2013 at the Wilson Nursing Center.
Marcy was born and raised on a rural farm in the merit and Farmersville Texas area. She was the baby of 9 children and joined in helping the family do farm work. She rode her horse “Dolly” to school each day and enjoyed participating in sports. She met the love of her life J.B. Lovelace at the Bethlehem Baptist Church. They were married on August 11, 1945 at Farmersville, TX. They were blessed with the birth of their first child Patricia on September 1, 1946, and 8 years later another daughter Malinda on September 16, 1954. Marcy joined in ministry with her husband J.B. She served in many areas of the church each place they lived. Stoney Baptist Church, in Wise County Tx, Achilliee Baptist Church, Achilliee Ok, Kingston First Baptist Church, Kingston, Ok, Union Baptist Church Rural area of Sulphur Springs, TX, FBC Colbert, Ok Cumby Baptist Church, Cumby Tx, Yuba Baptist Church, Yuba, Ok, Binger Baptist Church, Binger Ok, Apache Baptist Church, Apache, Ok, Wilson FBC, Wilson, Ok, Morris Memorial, Ada, ok, Cheek Baptist Church, Cheek, Ok. She and J.B. worked as houseparent’s and dorm Supervisor at the Buckner Baptist Children’s Home in Dallas, TX for 12 years. They considered it a blessing and privilege to be in a ministry that touched the lives of so many young people in a time of need.
Marcy had a passion for missions, and started several WMU, GA, and Sunbeams groups in the churches she served in. She also served as WMU director in the Caddo association for 4 years. She also had a love of music and was self taught in learning how to play the piano. She enjoyed teaching children to sing at Cheek Baptist Church. In addition to her service as a pastors wife, she worked part time in retail sales at Anthony’s Dept. Store, she was a Teachers aid at Binger public Schools, a CNA, and was also a ward clerk at the 7th day Adventist Hospital. She worked some in maintenance at Lone Grove Schools . She also joined her husband I working at falls creek many summers in several different capacities. She always felt that her first calling was as a pastors wife, and faithfully served by J.B.’s side during all of his ministry. She accepted Christ as her savior at the age of 10 yrs. And faithfully served him the remainder of her life. She always felt her primary role and calling was a pastor’s wife.
Preceding her in death are Parents, Roy and Dora Johnson; Brothers, Wade, John, Raymond, W.D.; Sisters, Mary, Barbra Ellen, Ora Mae, Marty and Grandson, Ricky Don Camplain, Jr.
Survivors include Husband, Rev. J.B. Lovelace of Wilson; Daughters, Pat Ivey of Kingston and Malinda Camplain and husband Ricky of Wilson; Grandchildren, Jason Ivey, and wife Angie of Ardmore, Jeff Ivey and wife Amy of Purcell, Jamie Guthrie and husband Gary of Wilson, Lisa Sudderth and husband Chris of Ardmore, Brooke McKee and husband Richie of Ardmore and Chase Camplain and wife Mayra of Newcastle; 11 Great Grandchildren, Brittany Ivey, Rider Ivey, Dysin Ivey, Bailey Brenan, Kayden Ivey, Blakeleigh Ivey, Emmy Guthrie, Nate and Cale Sudderth, Deakin McKee and William Camplain. Numerous nieces and nephews and other family.
Casket Bearers are Grandsons, Jason Ivey, Jeff Ivey, and Chase Camplain, and Grandsons in law, Gary Guthrie, Chris Sudderth and Richie McKee.
Memorial donations in memory of Marcy, are asked to be made to the First Baptist Church of Wilson, “Missions Fund”, 1384 8th St. Wilson, OK 73463.
Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Friday evening at the funeral home in Wilson
