Donnie Tibbs

Wilson - Private Family Services for Mr. Donnie Tibbs, 64, of Wilson are scheduled under the direction and care of Alexander-Gray Crematory of Ringling.

Donnie Tibbs was born May 29, 1951 at Dickson to the late Mr. J.L. Tibbs and Mrs. Lillie Mae (Henley) Tibbs. He departed this life Monday, May 2, 2016 at the Love County Health Center of Mariettta.

Donnie was raised at Dickson as 1 of 13 children, attending school there and graduating from High School in 1969. He married the former Ms. Joan Hunt on October 29, 1974 at Gainesville, Tx. After marriage, together they resided in Wilson, raising their children there. Donnie worked at several occupations, in and around this area, lastly working at Lowes in Ardmore. Donnie and Joan moved to Mena, Arkansas where they enjoyed living for 10 years but back to Wilson in 2006. Donnie enjoyed many fishing and camping trips.

Preceding him in death was his parents; infant sister, Bobbie Jo Tibbs; brothers, Johnny, Jimmie, Bathaion, Curtis, and Jeff.

Survivors include his wife, Joan of the home; son, Allen Tibbs and wife Angie of Wilson; daughters, Janice Doughty and husband David of Overbrook and Angela (Tibbs) Luttrell of Ardmore; brothers, Bill Tibbs and wife Cherry of Ardmore, Jerry Tibbs and wife Darlene of Ardmore, Jacky Tibbs and wife Theresa; sisters, Verna Lee Robinson of Ardmore, Barbara Smith and husbnd Bobby of Ardmore, Linda Tibbs and husband Otty of Dickson; 4 grandchildren, Brock and wife Kristi, Derek, Johnny, and Jake and Hailey; 3 great grandchildren, Baylor, Creed, and Adylee; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
