Donnie Ray Thomason

Ringling- Funeral Services for Mr. Donnie Ray Thomason 61, 0f Gainesville, TX, is scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday February 18, 2013 at the Church of God Fellowship of Divine Order in Ringling with Rev. Ellen Abshire and Rev. Phillip Williford officiating. Interment will follow at the Peters burg Cemetery south of Ringling. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Mr. Donnie Ray Thomason was born July 13, 1951 at Murray City, TN to the late Mr. L. B. Thomason and Mrs. Elsie Carol (Taylor) Thomason. He departed this life Wednesday February 13, 2013 at Corinth, TX.

Donnie was raised as part of a migrant working family living at several communities, not settling in Ringling until 1964. He also resided at Leon before making Gainesville his home. At Gainesville he was employed for 16 years at Weber Aircraft. After that he began employment with the City of Gainesville working in the Water Department where he retired from after 20 years of employment in 2005. Donnie enjoyed his retirement residing in Gainesville. He liked fixing up Hot Rod Cars and cherished moments with his family.

He is preceded in death by Father, L.B. Thomason and Mother, Elsie Carol (Taylor) Thomason; Stepdad, Gene Johnson; Sister, Sharon Grimes; Brothers, Ricky Thomason and James Johnson; and Daughter, Julia Thomason.

Survivors include Children, Jennifer Beam of Gainesville, TX, Misty Williford and husband Dallas of Whitesboro, TX, and Cristi Booker of Ringold, TX, all from his marriage with Ella Thomason; and Don Scott Thomason of Gainesville, TX with his union of Monisha Ashlock; Siblings, Farlin Thomason and wife Donna of Ringling, Twin Brother, Ronnie Thomason and wife Brenda of Gainesville, TX, Gerald Johnson and wife Una of Lindsay, OK, Patsy Land and husband Jeff , Debrah Bowers and husband Tommy and Willie Thomason and wife Carol all of Rippley, TN. 10 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild with numerous other family.

Pallbearers are Steven Thomason, Travis Thomason, Joe Thomason Abshire, Brian Johnson, Jimmy Don Taylor, and Jeff Thomason.

Family visitation will be from 5-7pm Sunday at the funeral home of Ringling.
