Wilson - Funeral Services for Ms. Donna "Donnie" Jean Lowery, 67 formerly of Wilson, are scheduled 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 20, 2016 at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with the Rev. Jason Williams officiating. Interment will follow to Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson.
Donnie was born Nov. 27, 1948 in Borger, Texas to the late Mr. George L. "Jack" Lowery and Mrs. Opal Lee (Freeman) Lowery. She departed from this life on June 15, 2016 at her home in Ardmore.
Donnie attended Rexroat schools till its closing in 1961, spending the remainder of her school years at Wilson Public Schools graduating in 1967. She then attended Murray State College and Southeastern Oklahoma State University graduating with a degree in Elementary Education in 1971. Donnie taught at Wilson Public Schools for 22 years which she loved with a passion.
Donnie was a devoted daughter, sister and aunt. She also was an excellent cook, loved gardening, loved working in her yard, hunting for treasures at yard sales, loved all animals and the OU Sooners. Donnie was a loving, giving and compassionate person.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Teddy Marie Davis, brother-in-law, Curt Davis, great niece, Jordan Page and Auntie, Lee Newman.
Donnie is survived by her sister, Sue Clark and husband Jim of Ardmore; brother, Lynn Lowery and wife Shelly of Wilson; special niece and best friend, Mary Page of Ardmore; uncle, David Lowery, special cousin Michael Hurt; nephew, Jack Lowery, nieces, Amanda Howard, Jennifer Throneberry and husband Michael; nephew, Jimmy Clark and wife Amy; nieces, Amy Nelson and husband Doug, Toni Brackett, Pam Johnson and husband Robert, Debbie McBride and husband Bill, numerous great nieces, nephews and our other mother, Florene Parker, life long friend Coelene Guinn-Sisco and cousins Corene and Jerry Brown.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ethan Lowery, Matt Throneberry, Dylan Howard, Olivia Howard, Chelsea Howard, Savannah Throneberry and Paige Throneberry. Honorary bearers will be class of 1967 and all former teachers with whom she taught.
