Funeral Services for Donald Loran Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson. The interment is scheduled for 9:00 A.M., Thursday, October 20, 2022 at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Donald Loran Wilson was called home on October 12, 2022 at Comanche County Memorial hospital due to heart complications. He will be laid to rest at the Dallas Fort Worth National cemetery on Thursday October 20th, 2022
Donald was born August 16, 1943 in Kansas City Kansas to the late Winford L Wilson and Dorthey Mae Evelyn Garrison. He was the only boy with sisters Tracye Cox and the late Norma Louise Price and Patricia Ann Hardin.
He married the love of his life on November 19,1971 blending their family. Together they raised numerous children, grandchildren and great grands. To his last day he had a hand in raising us all. He was devoted to his wife, family, and friends that were considered family. His faith and military service was important to him. When thanked for his service his response was always ‘I'd do it again if I wasn’t so old.” With the Navy he served in Vietnam. coming home in 1971 he went to work at Western Electric where he met and married Marie Ferland (Wilson). He worked as a lead oil field mechanic for many years retiring in 2005. He had a passion for flying, fishing, and riding Harleys with his church family. He loved animals having a very special bond with his Chihuahua Harley.
Donald is preceded by his parents; wife, Marie Wilson in (2021); son, Robert E. Wilson (2014); sisters, Patricia Ann Hardin and Norma Louise Price and 5 grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Grace M. Slaughter and her husband Try of Lawton; Gwen Hamilton and her husband Gordy of Kokomo, IN, Donald W. Wilson and his wife Mary of Edmond, Donald L. Wilson and his wife Debbie of Logans Port, IN, and Patrick Wilson and wife Thersa; 20 grandchildren, Jeannie, Nichole, Monica, Stephanie, Robert Jr., Ashely, Patrick Jr., Britny, Kassandra, Maria, Catherine, Lisa, Savannah, Eli, Gordy Jr., Amiee, Howie, Megan, John, and Erin; 32 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren; sister, Tracye Cox and husband Carl of Muskogee; Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Matthew Shanks, Robert Wilson, Jr., D.J. Shanks, Lisa Wilson, Savannah Wilson and Dusty Blakeney.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
