Donald Allen Patrick

February 10, 1928 — August 23, 2021

Ringling - Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Donald Allen Patrick, 93, of Ringling are scheduled for 9:00 AM Thursday, August 26, 2021 at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery Pavilion with Lafon Glenn and Jimmy Morris officiating. Great Grandchildren will be providing the Eulogy. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ringling.

Don was born on Feb. 10, 1928 at Shreveport, LA to the late Mr. Daniel James Patrick and Mrs. Novella (Thomas) Patrick. He departed this life on Monday, August 23, 2021 at the Ardmore Veterans Home.

Don was initially raised at Ft. Towson, moving to Ringling in 1944. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Patrick joined the United States Navy with his parents permission and served as seaman 1st class at the conclusion of WWII. Receiving his honorable discharge, he returned to Ringling working at Mort Woods Dairy of Ardmore and soon married the former Ms. Lella Drue Wade on Jan. 11, 1947 at Petrolia, TX. Don was called back for service during the Korean War, serving honorably on the tank landing ship, USS LST and was discharged in June of 1951. He and Drue remained in Ringling, most of their lives together and were blessed with three daughters, Patricia, Donna and Elizabeth.

Don was baptized in Jesus name on May 4, 1952. His love for God and the church was a priority that he shared with his family. Don was an exceptionally hard worker. He not only provided more than enough for his own but figured out ways to help the church and his extended family. At one time, Don worked morning tower on a drilling rig, came home and milked cows twice a day at his dairy, and then worked his shift at the Deep Rock station. He loved the Wade family dinner on Sundays and the softball or football game that always occurred after dinner. He and Drue continued the Sunday get-togethers with their own family and welcomed many others to their table over the years. His favorite pastimes were family camping trips and playing cards with friends and family several times a week. And the family suspects that he probably never found a reason NOT to go fishing.

Don is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Drue- April 28, 2016; daughter, Elizabeth Wilson; grandson, Joe Dale Stewart; sons in law, Harley Stewart, Mike Skinner and Cokey Wilson; sisters, Doris Stanton and Toppy Wade; and infant sister, Mickey Patrick.
