Wilson - Cremation services only for Mr. Don Lyndal "Tuffy" Stevens, 76, of Oklahoma City are under the care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
Tuffy was born on June 30, 1945 at Wilson to the late Mrs. Margie (O'Day) Smith. He departed this life on Monday, Nov. 22, 2021 at the Ardmore Veterans Home.
Tuffy was raised in Wilson graduating high school in 1963. During his high school years, he loved playing football and was always a faithful Wilson Eagle. After high school he attended college at the University of Oklahoma, before he was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Tuffy served honorably as a radio operator and received his discharge on Aug. 23, 1967. He returned to this area and returned to college and earned a Political Science degree from the University of Oklahoma and later a Masters Degree from Central State University of Edmond. Primarily he was employed at the State Capital as a legislative assistant and served many years with Senator Johnny Crutchfield. Tuffy stated he was the most popular unelected Senator in the State of Oklahoma. He loved to read and was an Avid OU football fan.
Tuffy is preceded in death by his mother, Margie Smith and a brother, Tom Smith.
He is survived by his sister, Linda Holloway of Wilson; brother, Rocky Hugh Smith of Oklahoma City; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
