Dennie Earl Bellah

August 30, 1944 — January 5, 2018

Ringling- Funeral services for Mr. Dennie Earl Bellah, 73, of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Ringling with Rev. Mark Kunkel officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Dennie was born on August 30, 1944 at Stamford, TX to the late Mr. Eugene Debs and Mrs. Jettie Onita (Ray) Bellah. He departed this life on Friday January 5, 2018 at the Healdton Hospital

Dennie attended Floydada High School and grew up in West Texas.He and the former Ms. Vicky Sue Ray were united in marriage on April 3, 1970 at Amarillo. Dennie joined the United States Army at the age of 17 years old. During his 24 years of Military Service he served 3 combat tours in Vietnam. He also served in Puerto Rico, Germany and Korea. He attended Cameron University on the Army's Bootstrap program and graduated with a degree in Business Management in 1984. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer Three in 1987 at Fort Sill, OK.

Upon retirement, he and Vicky moved to Walters where he began his Law Enforcement career with the Cotton County Sheriff Department. He served as undersheriff for twelve years then moved to Snyder where he served as the Chief of Police. During his Law Enforcement Career he attended the Drug Enforcement Agency's Basic Course, Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics Basic Course, Criminal Investigation Academy, served as a member of the Governors Drug Enforcement Certification in the State of Oklahoma.

Dennie enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved cooking out at his house. He liked to watch his grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports and tried to support them all at their games. He also enjoyed being outdoors and fishing.


Preceding him in death was his wife, Vicky Sue on Oct. 12, 2004; son Rusty; his Parents; stepfather, Charlie Prickett and a brother Ronald Bellah.


Survivors include his children, Geneva Thompson, David Bellah, Melody Lerke and Debbie Vanderburg, all of Ringling,and Brandon Sain and his wife Rachel of Terral,; grandchildren, Renee Millan and husband Jesse of Empire, Turtle Sain of Empire, Cory Sullivan and wife Stephanie of Duncan, Michael Sain and wife Kayla of Ringling, T.J. Lerke and wife Tiana of Ringling, Derek Gibson, Cheyenne Wright, Dalton Swindler, JaDee Nipp, Dillon Isaac, Cody Morris and Cameron Sain; great grandchildren, Jade Millan, Jazzy Millan, Boo Boo Millan, Gunter Sain, Jaxon Sain, Bentley Sain, Caden Talley, Lelland Sain, Matthew Sain, Levi Sain, River Lerke, Rusty Lerke, Izzy Sain, Serenity Sain, Zack Morris; nieces and nephews, Neal and Michelle Bellah of Amarillo, TX, Gary and Allison Autry of Hewitt, TX and Leslie Larkan and husband Roy of Claude, TX; sister, Carol Thomas and husband Jim of Amarillo, TX; numerous cousins and other family.


Casket Bearers Boo Boo Millan, David Bellah, Brandon Sain, Turtle Sain, Derek Gibson, Dalton Swindler, T.J. Lerke and Michael Sain.


Honorary Bearers Dillion Isaac, Jade Millan, Jazzy Millan, Gunter Sain, Jaxon Sain and Izzy Sain.


Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Monday evening at the funeral home in Ringling.
