Lone Grove - Funeral Services for Mrs. Delilah “Christine” (Morton) Cox, 84, of Lone Grove are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the Lone Grove Assembly of God Church with Bro. Gary Gunsolus and Bro. Gary Dotson officiating with assistance from Rev. Terri Beane. Interment will follow at the Lone Grove West Memorial Cemetery in Lone Grove, Oklahoma with grandson, Ethan Cox officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Christine was born February 2, 1934 at Simon, OK to the late Mr. Luther Edgar Morton and Mrs. Alma Alice (Hull) Morton. She departed this life Sunday, March 25, 2018 at her home in Lone Grove.

Christine was raised at Simon attending school at Courtney, graduating from Greenville High School in 1953. She married the love of her life, Mr. Gale Cox on December 15, 1951 at Gainesville, TX. Christine attended beauty school at Ardmore and began her career as a beautician that she continued for 40 years, retiring in 2004. In 1963 the couple made their home in Lone Grove where they have resided ever since. Christine enjoyed camping and riding jet skis. Her life revolved around the Lone Grove Assembly of God church. Christine worked as the church secretary for 48 years. She was a prayer warrior and the head of the prayer chain for the Hull family. Christine was also elected as the President of the Hull Family Reunions.

Preceding her in death were her Parents; brother, E.L. Morton and brother-in-law, Don Davenport.

Survivors include her husband, Gale Cox of the home; daughter, Robin Callis and husband Merle; sons, Richard Cox and wife Darla and Steve Cox all of Lone Grove; sisters, Oma Ruth Alexander and husband Wayne of Wilson, Maggie Evylene Davenport of Ardmore, and Chiquita Morton of Ardmore; sisters-in-law, Panzy Dudley and husband Robert and Fern Graig and husband Mike all of Azle, TX; 9 grandchildren, Tracy, Leslie, Kevin, Katie, Heather, Pepper, Levi, Ethan, and J Brooke; 16 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers will be Jimmy Gale Tynes, Mike Morton, John Kelly Davenport, Justin Davenport, Johnny Ray Tynes, and Lynn Davis.

Honorary bearers are Ethan Cox, Kevin Cox, Levi Callis, John Bennett, and Joe Bob Bennett.

Family visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
