David Chris Hodgson

Orr – Graveside Services for Mr. David Chris Hodgson, 53, of Orr is scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday November 10, 2011 at Orr Cemetery with Rev. Dan Stewart officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

David was born June 10, 1958 at Ringling, OK to the late Mr. Walter Lavern Hodgson and Mrs. Lennie May (Thompson) Hodgson. He departed this life Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Oklahoma City, OK.

David was raised at Orr attending school there until the 3rd grade and then attended Ringling graduating from there in 1977. He worked in the Oilfield mainly as a welder most of his working years and had also worked some as a truck driver. He and Tammy White were united in marriage on April of 1996 and they lived for a short while in Alabama before making their home in Orr, residing there for the last 3 years. David enjoyed the outdoors, loving to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. David was baptized as a young man at the Center Point Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his father, and 1 infant brother- Walter Lavern, Jr.

Survivors include his loving wife Tammy of the home; Son David Curtis Hodgson of Orr; Daughter Rebecca Hurtzler of Healdton; Stepchildren, Kristin Cain of Burneyville, Alan White and Joshua White, both of Wilson; Mother, Lennie M. Hodgson of Orr; Brother, Roger Hodgson and wife Joyce of Mannsville; Sister Sandra Fox and husband Donnie of Glencoe; Grandson Walter Anthony Hodgson and 3 step granddaughters, Zea, Brianna and Logan; Niece, Kristy Medford; and Nephews Kevin Hodgson, Dan Stewart, Jr. and Walter Stewart; Numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be David Curtis Hodgson, Kevin W. Hodgson, Dan Stewart, Jr., Walter Stewart, Alan White and Joshua White.

Family visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Wed evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
