David Arthur Hardin

Velma - Cremation services for Mr. David Arthur Hardin, 68, are scheduled with Alexander Gray Velma Chapel. Visitation and support time are scheduled for 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, at Alexander Gray Velma Chapel. 

David was born Jan. 29, 1955, at Pampa, TX to the late J D "Red" Hardin and Lois "Jackie" Marie (Bush) Hardin. He crossed over Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024, at his home in Velma. 

David was raised in Velma attending school there where he graduated in 1973. Shortly afterwards, he married the former Vera Mae Hamersley on Nov. 16, 1973, at Wichita Falls, TX. They made their home in Velma, where David worked in the Oilfield all of his years. He enjoyed fishing, especially noodling and trot-lining, and always enjoyed hunting. 

Preceding him in death are his parents; siblings, Homer and Freda Hardin; 2 nephews, Clifton and Jacob Norton and father-in-law, Doil Hamersley. 

Survivors include his wife Vera Mae of the home; daughters, Melinda Childress of Velma and Courtney Folsom and husband Matt of Moore; mother-in-law, Georgia Hamersley of Velma; sister, Marie Hardin of Duncan; adopted brother, Larry Fenton of Velma; sister-in-law, Pam Norton and husband Bob of Velma; 6 grandchildren, Emma, Abby and Dylan Childress, Mikayla, Yabsira and Joey Folsom; numerous other family and friends.
