Dave “Dobbin” Milton Hammons, Jr. passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017 at the age of 60 years, 1 month, and 29 days, at his residence in Lone Grove. He was born to Mr. Dave Milton Hammons and Mrs. Loma Loretta (Smith) Hammons on July 31, 1957 in Waurika, OK. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Homes & Crematory in Wilson.
He was raised in Ringling, moving to California his senior year where he graduated from high school. Dave worked most of his life as an iron worker doing construction for over 20 years. He always had a deep love for his children and loved flowers. Dave had a positive attitude and uplifted everyone he came in contact with. The last couple of years he worked for the Ardmore Dragway and currently worked as a water box technician. Dave was of the Christian faith and enjoyed attending church. Dave and Laela were married on September 1, 2017. He always enjoyed working in his yard and being with his wife Laela, and his family
Mr. Hammons is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Latrice Rogers; grandson, Isaac Hammons, and great nephew, Joey Rawls.
He is survived by his wife Laela (Ross) Hammons of the home; daughter, Emilee Hammons of Amherst, MA; son Davey Hammons of Ringling, three step-children, Tyler Ross and wife Jessica, Dan Hand and wife Belle, and Zachary Hand; brother Mark Hammons and wife Pam of Zanies; sisters Karen Paul of Ringling, Pamula Hays and husband Mark of Healdton; brothers, David Shaw and wife Kelly of Joaquin, TX, George Shaw and wife Bridgette of Davis, and Thurman Hammons of Ardmore; stepmother, Sue Hawkins of Ardmore; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends.
Memorial Services are scheduled for 12 PM, Friday, November 17, 2017 at Madill First Assembly of God Church.
