Danny Dewayne Hester

November 23, 1954 — April 9, 2017

Wilson - A Celebration of Life for Mr. Danny DeWayne Hester, 62, of Ardmore is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Bro. Jim Yeager officiating. Interment will follow at the Hewitt Cemetery of Wilson.

Danny was born Nov. 23, 1954 at Wilson to Mr. Billy Joe Hester and Mrs. Alwanda G. "Shub" (Acree) Hester. He departed this life on Sunday evening, April 9, 2017 at a healthcare facility in Oklahoma City.

Danny was a native to Wilson being raised on main street where his childhood days consisted of riding his bicycle up and down the streets. He also enjoyed his monthly camping trips as part of Troop 43 Wilson Boy Scouts. During his junior year, his family moved to Quanah, TX where he attended his senior year and graduated high school. Soon afterwards he returned to this area where he gained employment at the Uniroyal Tire Plant of Ardmore in 1973.

Danny met the love of his life, Ms. Nelda Ingram of Healdton, and they soon were united in marriage on October 30, 1976. They made their home in Ardmore and were blessed with a "Daddy's Girl" whom they named Jessica. Danny has continued to work at Uniroyal/Michelin where he was presently anticipating retirement in the next few years. He was currently working within the special industries department doing tire research and development.

Danny was an avid motorcycle rider and has been all of his life. He traveled with his brother, Dennis and other buddies all over the western United States enjoying every minute of it. His trips went from the desert southwest of the Texas-Mexico border to the Columbian Ice Fields of the Northern Canadian Rocky Mountains. Along the way, he enjoyed nature’s beauty of our National Parks, such as Big Bend, Yosemite, Yellowstone and Glacier, from Southern California’s Pacific Coast line north to the Red Wood Forest. Danny always loved spending time at the lake and always had a boat. He enjoyed water skiing and could even barefoot ski. Many memories were made with his family at the lake. Danny was good with his hands. He enjoyed working on his cars, pickups and motorcycles, taking things that were older and making them new again with what he had. Danny will be remembered as a good friend to many, a wonderful husband, a loving father, an all American biker and a great man who lived everyday with a purpose.

Preceding him in death is his father, Billy Joe Hester, January 19, 1999.

Survivors include his loving wife, Nelda Hester of the home; daughter, Jessica Womack of Ardmore; grandson, Austin Womack; mother, Alwanda "Shub" Hester of Ardmore; brother, Dennis Hester and wife Kathie of Wilson; sister, Carla Wood and husband Alan of Mead; niece, Lori Wood of Mead; nephews, Cody Wood and wife Jamie and their children Katie and Allie of Calera, Cory Moore of Healdton and Coby Moore of Chickasha; and numerous other family and friends.
