Dan "Sonny" Henry Thompson

Dan "Sonny" Henry Thompson of Wilson departed this life on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at the Wilson Nursing Center in Wilson at the of 84 years, 4 months, and 5 days. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at the Provence Cemetery near Dickson, OK with Rev. Ronnie Harris officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.

Sonny was born on October 29, 1936 in the Provence Community to the late Mr. Dick Thompson and Mrs. Velma (Sosbee) Thompson.

He was raised and lived in the Southern Oklahoma area most of his life other than for 10 years he lived in the Panhandle. He attended Lone Grove Schools. Sonny worked in the oilfield was a Dozer Operator for Carter County before his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors and working on his farm. Sonny loved staying at the lake and river fishing. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Thompson was a member of the Rexroat Baptist Church for many years.

Mr. Thompson is preceded in death by his parents; son, Kent Thompson; brother, David Thompson; and a daughter in law, Becky Thompson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Danny Thompson of Shawnee, Roger Thompson and wife Donna of Ada, Troy Thompson and wife Raquel of Wilson; sister, Charlene Chatham; sister in law, Donna Thompson of Littlefield, TX; grandchildren, Traci Hackett; Chad Thompson, Jordan Thompson Bouy; and Issac Thompson; great grandchildren, Tray Hackett, C.J. Hackett, Wyatt Bouy, and Beckett Bouy; Many other relatives and a host of friends.

Serving as casket bearers will be Jason Chatham, Sean Chatham, Zachary Chatham, Larry Young, Issac Thompson, Chad Thompson, Traci Hackett, and Jordan Thompson Bouy.

Visitation is scheduled 6 - 8:00 P.M. Monday, March 8, 2021 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
