Memorial Services for Mr. Dale Clayton Thompson, Sr., 68, of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Dundee Road Church of Christ in Ringling with son, Dale Thompson, Jr. officiating.
Dale was born August 22, 1942 at Healdton, OK to the late Mr. Buck Thompson and Mrs. Thelma Leta (Bossa) Thompson. He departed this life Sunday July 24, 2011 at Oklahoma City.
Dale was raised in the Dundee and Healdton area. He was employed most of his working years in the Oilfield living at Fox, Dundee and Ringling. He was employed for almost 30 years at Bullards Oilfield Service as a rig operator, retiring in 1987 due to an injury.
He and the former Ms. Shirley Mae Shankles were united in marriage on August 23, 1961 at the 6th Street Church of Christ by Ruel Wilson. Dale was always a man who loved the Lord and loved his family. He enjoyed conducting church services at his home, known as the Dundee Road Church of Christ, and always strived to help others. Dale enjoyed taking vacations with his family and loved play dominoes and cards with his friends.
Preceding him in death is Parents; Sister, Thelma Jo Byrd; Infant Sister, Betty Sue; Brothers, Buddy and Buck, Jr.; Granddaughter, Candace Lee Thompson; Sisters in Law, Mary Frances and Belinda.
Survivors include his wife Shirley Mae Thompson of the home; Daughters, Freda Mae Wright and husband David of Healdton, Cindy Thompson of Ringling, and Betty Haddad and husband Dean of Edmond. Son, Dale Thompson, Jr. and wife Sheryl of Ringling; Sisters, Pat Gilbert and husband James of South Carolina, June Ellen Thompson of Houston, TX; Special Nephew, James Thompson of Kerrville, TX, and Special Nieces, Shawn Marie Thompson of Leon and Ollie Jo Byrd of Lawton; Brothers, Freddie Rader and wife Edna of Henrietta, Calvin Thompson of Leon, Eddie Thompson and wife Carolene of Marietta, Larry Thompson and wife Carolyn of Ringling, and David Thompson and wife Donna of Healdton; 8 Grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; Numerous other nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Honorary Bearers are all the Grandsons and Earl Bunch.
