Cody Ray Self

Ringling – Graveside services for Cody Ray Self, 40, of Lone Grove are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, June 3, 2016 at Lone Grove West Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Mike Williams and Bishop Newell officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Mr. Cody Ray Self was born November 1, 1975 at Spokane, WA to the Mr. Billy Ray Self and Mrs. Sandra (Jones) Self. He departed this life Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Healdton, Ok.

Cody was raised in Ringling where he was an All State Football Player and graduating in 1994. After graduation, Cody attended Diesel Mechanic School at Okmulgee Tech. On November 7, 1997 Cody married the former Laura Childress at Ardmore. Together they had a united family being blessed with 3 children. Cody was presently working in the oilfield for OTEX as a diesel mechanic. He enjoyed dirt track racing and gardening but he loved hunting and fishing the most. Cody was a sports fan with baseball being his favorite sport. He always had a big heart and a smile on his face.

Preceding him in death was his grandmother, Norma Lee Sackett and grandfather, Chock Self.

Survivors include his wife, Laura of the home; daughter, Destiny Self of Healdton; step daughters, Kristin Ashley and Tanner Gray; parents, Billy and Sandra Self of Ringling; brother, Clifford Self and wife Keri of Pinto; sister, Lisa Worley and husband Travis of Ringling; grandmother, Elaine Taylor of Cody, Wyoming; Parents in Law, Royce and Pat Childress of Pauls Valley; Aunt, Dawnell Daniels and husband Dave of Cody Wyoming; numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers will be Earl Eubanks, Cody Brawley, Jeb Hammons, Michael Childress, Casey Lawson, and Matt Ward.

Honorary Bearers are Clifford Self, Ronnie Washington, Marty Jones, Bo Eubanks, Rodney Washington, and Travis Worley.

Family visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6-8PM at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
