Ringling - Celebration of Life Services for Coach Thomas "Tom" Robert Boyle, 72, of Ringling is scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday October 16, 2018 at Ringling United Methodist Church with Bro. Joe Taylor officiating and many friends eulogizing. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
Tom was born on June 15, 1946 at East Chicago, Indiana to the late Robert Emmett Boyle and Mrs. Evelyn Veronica (Burge) Boyle. He passed from this life on Wed. Oct. 10, 2018 at Oklahoma City.
Tom moved from Chicago to Tulsa at the age of six following his fathers business "Boyle's Boilers". He graduated from Bishop Kelly High School in Tulsa. He then attended college at Oklahoma State University before joining the United States Army National Guard. His military unit was soon activated for the Vietnam War and Tom served active duty for a year and a half. After his service he returned to Oklahoma and soon began his professional career as an educator and coach. Tom held his first teaching position at Porter, Oklahoma from 1973 to 1976. He moved to Ringling in the fall of 1976 and was an educator and coach there until his retirement in 2012. Tom was a dedicated Blue Devil employee and always had an unquestionable loyalty to Ringling Schools and faculty. He was a past member of the Catholic Church and a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father.
Survivors include his sister Lenore Enloe and husband Scott of Crown Point, IN; brothers, Bill Boyle of Independence, MO and Brian Boyle and wife Brenda of Griffith, IN; stepmother, Evelyn Pansing - Boyle of Tuscon, AZ; close friends, Grey Shivers and wife Sherry and Gina Smith and husband Tracy all of Ringling; numerous other friends, colleagues and students.
Pallbearers will be Arnie Ramon, Rob Alexander, Richie Gandy, Tracy Gandy, Bill Fincher, Steve Pybas, Tracy Smith and Jeremy Cunningham.
Honorary bearers are all the Present and Past Athletes of the Ringling Blue Devils and his brother in law, Scott Enloe.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Thomas R. "Coach" Boyle memorial scholarship fund 1302 7th Street, Wilson, OK 73463.
Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Monday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
