Clyde Kenneth Kerns

Fox- Funeral Services for Mr. Clyde Kenneth Kerns, 93, formerly of Fox, is scheduled for 11:00 AM Monday April 25, 2016 at the Fox Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at the Camp Family Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Clyde was born October 24, 1922 at Stringtown near Duncan to the late Mr. Vivian G. Kerns and Mrs. Ara Bess (Livengood) Kerns. He departed this life Thursday, April 21, 2016 at his home in Weatherford, OK.

Clyde was raised in this area attending school at Fox. He joined the CCC Camp following high school graduation and thereafter joined the U.S. Air Corps and later the U.S. Army during WWII. He served honorably as an infantryman and was part of the 2nd wave of D- Day landing. Following his honorable discharge he returned home and began a career in the Oilfield, working for Magnolia and later Mobil Oil Company.

Clyde was united in marriage to the former Ms. Virginia Camp in December of 1947. They made their home at several communities across Oklahoma and Kansas following his work. Clyde retired from Mobil Oil in 1987 residing in Weatherford. Residing there, they have enjoyed their retirement where they were members of the Weatherford Baptist Church. Clyde enjoyed traveling extensively and always enjoyed visiting with his family.

Preceding him in death were his Parents; sister, Opal Jennings; brother, Karl Kerns; daughter, Carol Chaney and a grandson, Zachary Finch.

Survivors include his loving wife, Virginia of the home; daughters, Connie Day and husband Bruce of Lander, WY and Dana Kerns and husband Tim Julian of Yampa, CO; grandchildren, Angela Queenan and Alicia Arney; great grandchildren, Anneleya Finch, Anna Kate Queenan and Keith Queenan, Jr.; niece, Vivian Carlson and numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers will be family.
