Ringling – Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Claudia Lavonia “Monie” (Faulkner) Dillard, 89, of Ringling are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Monday, Nov. 7, 2016 at the Ringling Church of Christ with Brian McGahey officiating and Mike Vanlandingham providing the eulogy. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Monie finished her adventure of 90 years on this earth early Friday morning, Nov. 4, 2016 about daybreak. She was born on November 6, 1926 at her family home north of Ringling to the late Mr. Claude Andrew Faulkner and Mrs. Ada Calista (Skinner) Faulkner. She spent many happy years with her siblings on that farm which was a legacy from her granddad.

Upon graduation from Mountain Home High School, she worked as a telephone operator with her best friend and future sister in law Illa Mae Farmer. This was her first and only job. As soon as Jerry Dillard returned from overseas, they married on September 16, 1948 and she devoted her life to him and their home. They made their home on the ranch south of Ringling where Jerry still resides. Monie had been a member of the Ringling Church of Christ since she was baptized as a teenager.

Lavonia was preceded in death by their son , Jerry H. “ Jetty” Dillard II in 1977. Also preceding her were both of her brothers, Earl and Dale Faulkner and a sister Leona Dodson.

Survivors include her husband Jerry of the home; daughter, Donna Butler and husband Brad of Ringling; grandsons, Ty Hammons and Mandi, Trey Hammons, Trent Hammons, Barrett Butler and Morgan and granddaughter Baylee Butler; great grandchildren include Koby, Destinie, Jaxon, Briar and Bo; Sisters, Retha Allen and husband Don of Ringling and Christene Apala of Ardmore; a very dear friend Ann Vanlandingham. Numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Casket bearers are Ty Hammons, Trey Hammons, Trent Hammons, Barrett Butler, Mike Vanlandingham and Biff Jackson.

Honorary bearers are her brothers in Christ of the Ringling Church of Christ.

Family visitation will be held on Sunday November 6, 2016 from 3 to 5pm at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
