Chesley "Duane" Wade

Ringling - Graveside Services for Mr. Chesley "Duane" Wade, 78 of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery Pavilion with Military Honors. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.

Duane was born June 26, 1943 in Ringling, OK to the late Mr. Charles Chesley Wade and Mrs. Geneva Cordelia (Lyles) Wade. He departed from this life on Saturday, February 12, 2022 in Duncan, OK.

Duane was raised at Centerpoint attending school there and at Ringling. He married the love of his life, Ms. Barbara Herrington on August 28, 1965 in Healdton, OK and shortly after, he enlisted in the National Guard until he was drafted in 1966 in the Vietnam War. Duane was awarded a purple heart and a bronze star before he was honorably discharged in 1969. He and Barbara moved to Ringling where Duane worked for Bill Smith heavy equipment from 1968-1971, for the Sheriff Office from 1971-1978, and for County District 1 in Waurika in 1978 until he retired in 2008. Together, Duane and Gary owned and operated Wade Heavy Equipment after he retired because he loved doing dirt work. Duane enjoyed and loved watching his grandchildren's sporting events, fishing, hunting, but most of all he enjoyed "Papa's Day" which was going to eat lunch every Sunday with Gary.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Boyd Wade; and a sister, Sherry Wade.

Duane is survived by his loving wife, Barbara of the home; daughter, Sandra Copeland and husband John of Howe, TX; son, Gary Wade of Grandview; sister, Sue Henley of Dallas, TX; brothers, Dink Wade and wife Sheryl of Ringling and Richard Wade of Dallas, TX; 9 grandchildren, Rachel, Chance, Megan, Connor, Hannah, Lauren, Sierra, Jenna, and Whitney; and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Gary Wade, John Copeland, Chance Copeland, Connor Copeland, Justin Paul, and Brent Hammonds

Honorary bearer will be Randy Wade.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 5-7 P.M. at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
