Charles Edgar Stevens

Healdton - Graveside services for Mr. Charles Edgar Stevens, 88 of Austin, TX are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Mount Olive Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Charles was born December 18, 1931 in Douglas, OK to the late Mr. Dennis R. Stevens and Mrs. Minnie L. (Wooten) Stevens. He departed from this life on Monday, August 3, 2020 in Austin, TX.

Charles grew up in Wilson and attended school there until joining the United States Army. He married Betty Marilyn Riddle on July 10, 1953. Charles enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a hard worker and was a workaholic in the oilfields. He started at Sutherlands, moved to Hennessey and then started working for Pool Well Services. Charles loved joking and having fun. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hennessey.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Betty; sisters, Vivian Taylor and Lavada Morrison; brothers, Donald Stevens and James Stevens; and by a son in law, Jr. Raper and a daughter in law, Erin Stevens.

Charles is survived by his son, John Stevens and wife Robin of Marshall, OK and Jeff Stevens and wife Shirley of Austin, TX; daughter, Janice "Dawn" Raper of Amarillo, TX; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild, and a host of other family and friends.
