Charles Adolph Haslam

May 27, 1922 — February 7, 2018

Mr. Charles Adolph Haslam of Homosassa, Florida departed this life on Wednesday February 7, 2018 at Homosassa, FL at the age of 95 years, 8 months and 11 days. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday February 17, 2018 at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Bro. Mike Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.


Mr. Haslam was born May 27, 1922 in Wilson, OK to the late Mr. Milton Stewart Haslam and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (Kirbo) Haslam.


Charles honorably served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1946. He received several medals including the Victory Medal, American Area Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal and good conduct medal.


He married the love of his life Joan Marie Haslam on January 16, 1948. They were happily married for over 70 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plainville Kansas. Mr. Haslam was a chemical engineer and worked in the oilfields for many years.


He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jack Stewart Haslam, Daniel Raymond Haslam and sister Mary Ruth French.


Survivors include his wife Joan Marie Haslam of the home, daughter Kathleen Ann Hilgers and husband Randy, son Steven Paul Haslam and wife Martha Ann, grandsons Chad Michael Haslam, Ryan Taylor Haslam, granddaughter-in-law Kimberly Dawn Haslam, brothers Bobby Gene Haslam and wife Kay, Donald Frank Haslam and wife Susan, Joe David Haslam and wife Peggy Ann, Tommy Lee Haslam and wife Mary, numerous nieces, nephews, family members and a host of friends.


Pallbearers will be Steve Haslam, Bobby Haslam, Donald Haslam, Joe Haslam, Tommy Haslam and John Firestone.
