Charlene O'Dell

Healdton – Funeral Services for Mrs. Charlene (Nix) O’Dell , 79 of Healdton are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Shell Street Church of Christ in Healdton with Danny Huntsman officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt Olive Cemetery in Healdton. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Charlene was born April 24, 1939 in Durant, Oklahoma to the late Mr. Charley Lee Nix and Mrs. Mary Lorene (Lynch) Nix. She departed this life Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore.

She and Perry Dan O’Dell were married on June 7, 1958 in Pruitt City, Oklahoma. She was a devoted military and preacher's wife and loved her family. Mrs. O’Dell had a strong faith and taught vacation bible school for many years, doing mission work and at one time was the church secretary for several years. She had a beautiful voice and sang with the Sweet Adelines. Charlene’s children and grandchildren always brought her great joy and she would clip out every newspaper article with their name in it and save for them. In her free time, she loved taking pictures, playing chicken foot, Mexican train, or card games such as Joker with her family.

Charlene is preceded in death by her parents, and a great granddaughter, Cora Kitchens.

Survivors include her loving husband Mr. Perry Dan O’Dell of the home; son, Randy O’Dell and wife Tammy of Duncan; daughter, Dana Jumper and husband Tim of Perryton, TX; grandchildren, Mandy Kitchens, Dustin O’Dell, Travis O’Dell, Cory Jumper, Heather Mahan, Ashley O’Dell, and Braeden O’Dell; 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Diana Fisher and husband Rick of Lone Grove; Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Serving as Casket Bearers will be Cory Jumper, Randy O’Dell, Dustin O’Dell, Braeden O’Dell, Ashley O’Dell, Mandy Kitchens, Heather Mahan, Rick Fisher, Tim Jumper, and David Chambers.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home in Wilson.

In lieu of flowers the family request to please make donations to World Video Bible School c/o Alexander Funeral Home.
