Cecil Eugene "Pee Wee" Vanbuskirk

Services for Mr. Cecil Eugene "Pee Wee" VanBuskirk, 57, of Lone Grove, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, August 4, 2017 at the New Hope Freewill Baptist Church of Lone Grove with Rev. David Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at the Newport Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral HOme of Wilson.

Pee Wee was born July 8, 1960 at Ardmore to Mr. Cecil Roland VanBuskirk and Mrs. JoAnn Marie (Hammons) VanBuskirk. He departed this life on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Integris Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Pee Wee was raised at Newport, graduating from Lone Grove High School in 1978. He was employed by Uniroyal and later worked for several drilling rigs as a floor hand. Pee Wee was mostly known for being a pool man. He was employed by Jarvis Pools for 25 years, installing and working on swimming pools for everyone within the area. Pee Wee loved to fish and mow. He always enjoyed working outside and spending time with his family and friends.

Preceding him in death is his father and his brother, Mike VanBuskirk.

Survivors include three daughters, Katie Buchanan and husband Josh of Lone Grove, Jessica Peery and husband Justin of Marietta, and Valerie VanBuskirk of Madill; mother, JoAnn VanBuskirk of Lone Grove; sister, Donna Payne and husband Raymond of Gene Autry; brothers, Dennis VanBuskirk and wife Hazel of Purcell, Steve VanBuskirk and wife Barbie of Lone Grove, and Billy VanBuskirk also of Lone Grove; seven grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers will be John Buckles, Devon VanBuskirk, Jeremy Strebeck, David Hunt, Mike Hotema, and Kenneth Robinson.

Honorary Bearers are Josh Buchanan, Justin Peery, Keith Rainey, Terry Inselman, Ronnie VanBuskirk, and Jarvis Hunt.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Thursday evening at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson.
