Cecil Edward Baucom

Ringling- Mr. Cecil Edward Baucom was born on July 20, 1937 to the late Mr. Omar Baucom and Mrs. Nellie Mae (Huffman) Baucom in Ringling. He departed this life on May 18, 2018 at his residence in Joshua, TX at the age of 80 years, 9 months, and 28 days.

Mr. Baucom grew up in the Ringling area and attended school there. After graduating he honorably served in the United States Navy.

Cecil married Mary Lou (Jones) Baucom on June 19, 1964 in Ada, OK. She preceded him in death on September 26, 2006.

Mr. Baucom worked in the oil industry as a driller for many years. He enjoyed riding his gold wing motorcycle, going to car shows and traveling to Las Vegas. He loved his family and always cherished his time with his nieces, nephews and grandchildren. When he wasn’t on the go and traveling he could be found watching old westerns and antique roadshow.

Cecil is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Lou Baucom; 4 sisters, and 7 brothers.

Mr. Baucom is survived by his daughters, Nellie Jean Austin and husband Robert of Joshua, TX, Marle Reynolds and husband Clay of Kermit, TX; son, Timothy Baucom and wife Shelly of Quitman, TX; seven grandchildren, Zachary, B.J., Colby, Robert Jr., Hannah, Kaitlyn, and Lance; sister in laws, Lois Gibson and husband Verdo of Ringling, Cheryl Wilkes and husband Carlen of Ardmore; brothers, Earl Baucom of Hobbs, NM, and Charles Baucom of Grandbury, TX; special caregiver, Linda Baucom of Alvorado; Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
