Ringling – Funeral Service for Mr. Cartez Clifton “Butch” Allen, Jr., 64 are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, August 19, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Ringling with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
Mr. Allen was born June 4, 1946 at Oklahoma City to Mr. Clifton Cartez Allen and Mrs. Jewel Elizabeth (Roberts) Allen. He departed this life Sunday, August 15, 2010 at his residence in Ringling.
Butch was raised in Ringling, graduating from Ringling High School in 1964. He was drafted into the U.S. Army on September 8, 1969 at Oklahoma City. He served honorably for two years as part of a light weapons infantry division and was discharged September 1, 1971 at Fort Benning, GA. He then became employed at Tinker Air Force Base, retiring from there as an inspector after 32 years of employment. He returned to Ringling in 2004 and has resided there since. He enjoyed collecting antiques, traveling, photography, and Art.
Survivors include his Parents, Mr. Cartez and Mrs. Jewel Allen of Ringling. Daughters, Mary Beth Taylor and husband John of Peyton, CO, and Teresa Allen of Lubbock, TX. Sons, Clifton Chad Allen and wife Quitta of Sherman, TX, Shane Cartez Allen and wife Wendy of Taylor, TX, and Mark William Allen and wife Michelle of Cabot, AR. Brother Donald Gene Allen and wife KayNetta of Collinsville, OK. 9 Grandchildren- Alyssa, Drew, Brennan, Rebecca, Magdalene, Arabella, Mary Grace, Sydney and Matthew. Numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Audie Roberts, Mike Moore, Chock Greenroyd, Red McCauley, Larry Blankenship, and Jamie Don Scott.
Honorary Bearers are Virgil Davis, Kenny Zachary, Larry Parker, and Lonnie Wallace.
Family visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Wed. at Alexander Funeral Home in Ringling.
