Oswalt - Funeral Services for Mr. Carroll "Johnnie" Nipp, II, 47, of Oswalt is scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday May 18, 2019 at the Freeman Auditorium of Turner Schools with Pastor Scott Bradley officiating. Interment will follow at the Simon Cemetery south of Wilson. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
Johnnie was born on January 22, 1972 at Healdton to Mr. Carroll Johnnie "John" Nipp and Mrs. Marsha Ann (Hockersmith) Nipp. He departed this life on Friday May 10, 2019 at Marietta.
Johnnie was raised in Oswalt attending school at Turner schools. He graduated High School from Turner in 1990. As a young man he attended auctioneer school at Kansas. He received a Masters degree in Psychology with honors from East Central University of Ada. Soon after he began a career within the Mental Health Services of Ardmore as a counselor for many years. He was very active in an NA group where he also counseled several individuals. His passion and true calling was helping others with complications in life. Johnnie enjoyed spending time with his son Con and his one and only nephew Colter and his other family earlier in life. He also took pleasure in always riding a good horse.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Jim and Catherine Hockersmith, Con and Pearl Nipp and his great grandmother, Annie Hockersmith.
Survivors include his parents, John and Ann Nipp ; son, James "Con" Nipp; sister, Jennifer Nipp and Colby Barrick, nephew Colter Barrick all of Overbrook; special sister, Jammi Jo Thogmartin of Greenville; one who was like his own daughter, Makayla Greenroyd and her daughter Raelyn; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other family and a multitude of friends.
Casket Bearers will be Kenneth Westmoreland, Sparky Phillips, Danial Vernon, Lynn Self,Justin Nipp and Joe Russell.
Honorary Bearers are all of cousins, the Turner Class of 1990 and his special friends of the NA group.
Family visitation will held from 6 to 8 pm Friday evening at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
Memorial donations may be made to the NA group in memory of Johnnie to continue his life work at www.na.org
