Carroll Glenn Reed

June 20, 1950 — December 18, 2013

Ringling – Graveside Services for Mr. Carroll Glenn Reed, 79, of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday December 20, 2013 at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery with Bro. Clint Walker officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Mr. Reed was born June 20, 1934 at Chico, TX to the late Mr. Willie Reed and Mrs. Lottie Mae (Simpson) Reed. He departed this life Wed. morning Dec. 18, 2013 at the Wilson Nursing Center.

Mr. Reed was raised in Decatur, TX. As a young man he was drafted into the United States Army serving honorably two consecutive terms as a Cook from 1956 to 1963. He returned to the Decatur area and soon visited Oklahoma, while attending a Wolf hunt at Leon. Soon he made this area his home, and worked some in the Oilfields but was mostly was known for being a meat cutter and a butcher. He worked in the Velma Grocery store and then at Harry’s Super Foods of Ringling in which he retired from about 10 years ago.

Carroll and the former Ms. Karen Cole were united in marriage on Nov. 13, 1983 at Ardmore. They enjoyed their many years together residing mostly in Ringling. He enjoyed going wolf hunting with his buddies Joe Campo and Rayburn Ritter. He was always Pentecostal by faith and was a member of the Asphaltum Assembly of God Church.

Preceding him in death are his Parents; Step Son – Timothy Wayne Doss and nephew James Ray Carter and several siblings.

Survivors include his loving wife Karen of the home; Daughter, Amy Reed of Henrietta, TX and Son , Darin Reed and wife Jackie also of Henrietta; Stepchildren, Lee Doss and wife Heidi of Ringling, Tina Riley and Billy Jack Gregg of Healdton and daughter in law Frances Doss of Ringling; Sister, Virginia Renniker of Decatur, TX; 10 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren; Numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers are Alen Doss, Lee Doss, Layton Hawkins, Joe Campo, Terry Riley and Ethen Eaves.

Family visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Thursday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
