Ringling - Carolyn Lee Higdon, born on September 4, 1951 left this world for her heavenly home on August 15, 2021.
Carolyn was born and raised in Ringling, OK. Carolyn was the daughter of Clayton”Doe” Mitchell and Georgia Canada. Carolyn was the oldest of 6 children. On August 18th, 1967 she married James Virgil Higdon. They were married until James passed away in May, 2001. Carolyn had two children, James V Higdon Jr. and wife Jennifer of Chatanooga, OK and daughter Stephanie Hammons and husband Dustin of Davis, OK. Grandchildren are Danielle Voyles and husband Justin, Jadel Higdon and wife Raeanna, Randall Higdon, Wes Davis, Tyson Hammons, Tuff Hammons, and Titan Hammons. Great-grandchildren are Jackson and Jayson Voyles and Brett Davis. She is survived by her mother Georgia Canada, her two sisters Debbie Sparks, Lisa Shepard and one brother Glen Mitchell and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carolyn lived a life dedicated to the Lord. She served in children ministries for well over 20 years. Saturday bus ministries, kids crusades, puppet shows, children church, and camps. She was often seen in a clown outfit in the streets of Ringling especially during the Circus Days. Later in her ministry she became an ordained Methodist minister and she was over the Courtney Methodist Church for 7 years. She also held a non-denominational pastoral license. Carolyn worked and retired from Arco Pipeline. She was a station operator. After retirement she went to work for Zaneis Headstart. She also had her own business called Carrot Tops where she made her famous hat boxes. Carolyn was talented in so many ways. She could decorate cakes like a pro. She was a true artist in all her crafts. She was well known for her apple cider served from her front porch in the fall. She dedicated her life to helping kids of all ages in knowing Jesus Christ. Carolyn was involved in the Recovery program and she mentored many that were on the road to recovery. She was a member of the United Methodist and of the First Assembly of God of Davis . Carolyn always had a smile on her face and was willing to help where she was needed. She loved people and everyone she came in contact with she made a difference in their day. Her goal in life was to win as many people as she could to the Lord. Her hope is to see everyone she loved and came into contact with in heaven some day. Carolyn leaves behind a Godly example for her children and their children and their children until the Lord returns.

Services for Carolyn will be Saturday August 28, 2021 at 2pm at the Ringling First Baptist Church. Pastor Billy Holder will be officiating.
