Wilson – Funeral Services for Mrs. Carol “Mimi” E. Sorensen, 79 of Tyler, TX are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 5, 2022, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Pastor Steve Turrentine officiating. Interment will follow to Bomar Point Cemetery.

Carol was born September 25, 1943 in Dallas, TX to the late Mr. Alfred T. Kemp and Mrs. Pauline Grissom. She departed from this life on Thursday, December 1, 2022, in Tyler, TX.

Carol was raised in Dallas, TX where she attended school. She married Billy Serur on March 8 and after his death, Carol married Arnold Sorensen on December 1, 1973. She was a homemaker, worked periodically for brief periods as a dental assistant and later in the electronics industry at Rockwell International. Carol also owned and operated an antique shop in Johnson City, The Gazebo, and the Peach Tree Inn in Fredericksburg, TX. Carol enjoyed raising, selling, and showing exotic animals. Her and Arnold founded Someday Farms and traveled across the US to buy, sell, and show their beloved miniature donkeys, llama’s, and various other exotic animals.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husbands Billy Serur and Arnold Sorensen; and a sister, Lavanna Norton.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Alisa Stanfield of Tyler and Teresa Taylor and husband Billy Bob of Tyler; son, Paul Serur of Rockport, TX; brother, Tommy Goodson of Wilson; sister, Jane Shurtleff and husband Jim of George Town, TX; 4 grandchildren, Chad Serur, Kayla Serur, Gracie Serur, and Rachel Ledbetter; 4 great grandchildren, Madison Serur, Briley Ledbetter, Adeline Ledbetter, and Luke Ledbetter; many nieces and nephews and by a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Paul Serur, Chad Serur, Billy Bob Taylor, Evan Norton, and Benton Goodson.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 2-4 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
