Ringling – Funeral Services for Mrs. Camilla Jewel (Billingsley) Sparks – Schmalle, 86, of Portland, Oregon formerly of this area, is scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, February 27, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Ringling with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
Camilla was born Camilla Jewel Billingsley on May 30, 1925 to the late John Billingsley and Julia (Southern) Billingsley in Doyle, Oklahoma. She departed this life Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Portland, Oregon.
Camilla grew up during the Great Depression and survived many hardships. She was a riveter during World War II in Oklahoma City in a plant that made Boeing bombers. In later years she worked as a clothing inspector in a factory. She married Forrest Anderson Sparks soon after the war. They lived in Ringling, Oklahoma, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Houston, Texas, and Portland Oregon. Forrest passed away in 1998. She married Earl Schmalle in Portland in 2000. He passed away in 2005.
Camilla is survived by two daughters, Gay Wakeland (Dennis) of Portland, Oregon and Dana Neal (David) of Flower Mound, Texas. She is also survived by three lovely granddaughters, Aydana, Andrea and Allison, a brother, John Billingsley, Jr. of Livingston, Texas, a sister Neva Jo Campbell of McAlester, Oklahoma, and a half-brother, Larry Joe Billingsley of Lone Grove, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Wakeland, David Neal, Jon Neal, John Campbell, Glenn Sparks and Sam Neal.
